Everything you need to know about enrolment!

All the information you need to enrol in your course and choosing your modules!

How to enrol:

In order to enrol as a student of the University, it is essential you complete Online Enrolment.
To complete the enrolment process, you should log onto the Student Portal.
Click on the link for Online Enrolment - Enrol Now - and follow the step-by-step instructions.

At the start of the enrolment process you will be asked to confirm some information we hold about you, or enter this information if it was not supplied in your application.

How to get your Student ID card:

Once you have completed online enrolment and your uploaded photograph has been approved, you will be able to access your digital student ID card in the University of Stirling app.

Students currently residing in the UK who are studying at our Stirling campus will also receive a physical student ID card. This will be posted to your semester address which you can update on the student portal. If you are planning on moving into University accommodation and complete enrolment prior to this, your student ID card will be posted to your home address, unless this is outside the UK.

Please note physical student ID cards are not issued for students studying single modules, online courses or studying at an overseas campus.

Choosing the modules:

You can choose the modules you want to take from your Student Portal by clicling "Module registration" button.
There is a .pdf file provided for futher instructions.

When choosing the modules, your can see details about each module. Such as the things you will learn throughout the year, the assessment type, module objectives, learning outcomes, and other details.

Depending on the course you are studying, there is certain amount of credits you need to get.
If you need to get 60 credits in a semester, that means you will need to choose, for example, 3 modules that are worth 20 points each.

Choosing module groups:

After choosing the modules, you will need to choose the groups for seminars and labs. This can be done through Canvas, for each module.

The seminars and labs you chose will be the only ones you have to attend.
Seminars usually are every second week, and labs each week. You can choose the day and time that works best for you.
